National minimum wage worker hourly rate
I am sure as employers in Small Medium Enterprises (SME’s) that we keep up to date with paying our employees the National minimum wage rate.
However for new employers / start up businesses, this is always a question I am asked on a regular basis. I know from experience that everyone you ask will give the same answer,
‘I am not sure you could phone………..”
So for new employers and start ups and as a refresher for all, here are the hourly wage rates you should be paying your employees.
21 and over: £6.08
18 – 20 £4.98
16 – 17 £3.68
These are correct at January 2012. However these hourly rates are amended from time to time by the Government. It is your responsibility as an employer to keep up to date.
